Description
Paçoca is one of Brazil's most beloved sweets. Traditionally, it's made with ground peanuts,
sugar, and salt; some recipes also include cassava flour.
The name 'Paçoca' comes from the Tupi language of Brazil's indigenous people
and can be translated as 'to crumble' or 'to shatter.'
Don't be surprised that the name 'Paçoca' actually refers to two dishes—one
sweet and the other savory. Both are made with cassava flour mixed with
various ingredients: peanuts and sugar for the sweet version
or carne seca (dried, salted beef) for the savory version.
